Badia di Pomaio, Tuscany, Italy

I was completely smitten with this recently renovated boutique hotel as soon as I saw this photo of their stunning infinity pool! How heavenly to spend the day here poolside with those incredible views?! Pure peace and tranquility reign at this beautifully restored 17th century former Abbey sitting high on hill overlooking the Tuscan city of Arezzo.

Local craftsmen have carefully restored the ancient sandstone building, and together with designer Ilaria Miani, it is now transformed into an elegant, contemporary space with no two rooms alike. I love the wooden beams, blonde wood and calming, neutral colour palette interspersed with highlights of green and pumpkin yellow. Metal vases and lamps are mixed with wooden baskets, antique trunks and designer furniture - I absolutely love the result!

Campo Badia restaurant is overseen by Chef Davide Canella, and there is a focus on locally sourced, seasonal, regional fare. The vegetables and herbs they use come directly from their own kitchen garden (love that!), and Olive oil and honey are also produced onsite. Bar Serra is a wonderful spot to enjoy a drink, and there is a wine cellar to explore.

The adjacent woods are the perfect place to enjoy jogging, hiking and cycling, however I think it would be difficult to ever leave the pool and those amazing views! www.badiadipomaio.com
