Chapter Roma, Rome, Italy

Let me share with you why I think the recently opened Chapter Roma is a fabulous option for your next stay in Rome! It’s located in an 1800’s neo-classical building in the Regola neighbourhood not far from the Jewish quarter and central Rome. If you’re more familiar with the major landmarks - it’s about 900 metres from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Whether you’re travelling on your own, as a couple or a family, this hotel is a great option.

Designer Tristan Du Plessis has created a glamorous, sophisticated and contemporary space through the use of exposed brickwork, raw steel, vaulted ceilings and brass and copper moody lighting. The furniture is a mixture of mid-century and contemporary pieces from leading designers such as Tom Dixon, Moroso, Seletti and Diesel. The colour palette is neutral, however I’ve fallen in love his use of sumptuous velvet on the furniture and the colours he’s used - dark green, orange and pale pink. The 42 rooms range in size from 16 - 35 square metres and have views of the city or the courtyard. Choose from the ‘solo pad’, the ‘baby double’, Chapter double’, ‘Loft’ or ‘Suite’. I adore the use of wooden floors in the rooms and the simple dark granite bathrooms with brass fittings.

The communal spaces on the ground floor are adorned with fabulous artwork, and offer guests many options for socialising, working, relaxing, eating and drinking. The ‘Lobby Bar’ is a multi-functional space with comfy sofas, a communal table (great for working during the day) and a bar that offers wines and cocktails in the evening. ‘Market’ offers guests coffee, salads, fresh juices and snacks in a smart, contemporary, light filled space.

Although this hotel is a 4-star, all reports are that the service is attentive, friendly and worthy of a 5-star hotel. I’m very much looking forward to staying here next time I visit the Eternal City!
