Hotel Senato, Milan

If you’re searching for THE perfect spot to rest your head next time you’re visiting Milan, then I recommend you try Hotel Senato.

This stylish, 43 room, boutique hotel with its pretty, white neo-classical facade, is located on via Senato - only a 10 minute walk away from the Duomo, and a stones throw from shopping heaven on via della Spiga and via Montenapoleone!

A key design feature of the hotel is the light-filled interior courtyard with a shallow reflection pool of water. The striking white and green marble floors contrast with a monochrome colour palette of black and white with a touch of gold. The bedrooms are done simply and tastefully in white, with brass lamps and side tables, and a Carrara marble bathroom. I enjoyed a good nights rest thanks to the very comfy mattress, extensive choice of pillows and Egyptian cotton bedlinen. My room faced the back courtyard area of the hotel and was extremely quiet.

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day when I travel, and the choices here from the extensive buffet were excellent. What I enjoyed most though, was sitting outside enjoying my breakfast in their lovely quiet, green courtyard. As well as breakfast, the Senato Caffé offers light dishes during the day and aperitivo options as well.

The hotel has a small gym with everything you need for a workout, however if you’re wanting to take a run or walk in the fresh air, the hotel is nearby to the Indro Montanelli Public Gardens. There is also a wonderful roof terrace - the perfect place to relax during the warmer months of the year. The staff were super friendly (I love it when I get a compliment on my Italian language skills!) and professional. I really loved my stay here and would happily make this my home again next time I visit Milan.
