BIKE RIDING IN BARCELONA

I think the best way to really see a city and to get a ‘feel’ for it is to either walk or bike ride.  It’s also a great way to conquer jet lag being out and about in the fresh air!

We booked a 3-hour private bike tour of Barcelona and it was our favourite experience of our trip there. It was also a perfect day for a bike ride - sunny, blue skies and not too hot!

After much research I chose ‘El Ciclo’ for our bike riding tour.  Ramiro and Annebeth from El Ciclo were extremely helpful, warm and accommodating.

All of their tours are personalised and they don’t work with any fixed routes, so you are able to request areas or places that you would like to be included in your tour.

Our guide was Carola, and she was absolutely delightful to be around, informative (without going on for too long!) and very relaxed.  We saw such a large part of Barcelona in the three hours we had – the Gothic Quarter, El Raval, Poble-Sec, Barceloneta and we finished our tour in the beautiful Parc de la Ciutadella before making our way back to the bike shop. We also enjoyed stopping briefly at one of Carola’s favourite cafés for a coffee and cold drink halfway through our ride.

Ramiro is passionate about bikes and has an extraordinary bike shop.  Visit their website for prices and more information.
